Diabetes mellitus is a growing health problem worldwide. In Greece, the last thirty years the incidence of diabetes has increased thirtyfold. This study aims to compare the health of patients with Diabetes suffering from peripheral vascular disease in the postoperative course after angioplasty or bypass graft failure. For the study used a questionnaire based on the SF-36. The survey was conducted in the period from March to September 2015. The material of this study were patients of the hospital of Thessalonikispou suffering from diabetes mellitus and peripheral vascular disease who underwent angioplasty and arterial bypass. A total of 38 questionnaires were answered. The 15 patients undergone arterial bypass surgery and 23 in angioplasty. According to the results of the health of diabetic patients who underwent both procedures (angioplasty and arterial bypass) is influenced by the type of surgery and especially from the limitations it brings about in their daily lives, but also by other social and demographic factors that cannot be controlled, such as gender, age, marital status and occupation. Patients who had undergone arterial bypass (bypass) in General showed that their health is better in almost all scales in the questionnaire, compared to patients who had undergone angioplasty. This observation applies particularly between dimensions of general health, limiting the activities and mental health and less between dimensions of social activity and pain.
