The presence of tea on the planet in the form of beverage holds back to thousands of years begins from the ancients China and Japan and reaches up to the present where it has now entered the daily life of the European continent. As drink tea, is divided into four main types are green tea, white tea, black tea and tea oolong. With its unique characteristics tea, made it up to the area of cosmetics where it is being used in the form of substance. The present thesis makes a thorough review of the historical journey of tea from China to contemporary Europe. Then, it presents the four main types of tea making a clear reference to the form of each type’s fermentation. Finally, it is conducted a thorough analysis of the tea’s chemical composition while at the same time is presented its importance to the area of cosmetics.
