The present paper will present a bibliographic study of the agile methodology feature and applications, such as XP, Scrum, etc. In addition to that, an analysis will be presented of Distributed teamwork. Emphasis will be given to the implementation of agile methodologies in distributed teams and the challenges they encounter, while solutions will be presented for these problems. Furthemore, a questionnaire will be created which will be sent to selected companies (or professionals involved with agile methodologies and / or distributed teams, mainly foreign, which will be identified through a literature study and research on the internet. At the end, the questionnaire responses will be presented and analyzed.
