Canine Parvoenteritis is a very serious disease that primarily infects young
dogs and causes severe gastrointestinal disease and occasionally heart disease.
Mortality of this virus can even reach to about 90% for puppies. This thesis seeks to
study this illness, its causes, the way it is transmitted, while thoroughly examines the
symptoms it causes to the dogs and the possible ways of healing. Additionally, there
are presented ways of preventing and avoiding the virus, as well as the possible
complications it can cause to the animal. In addition to the theoretical approach of the
disease, ten clinical cases of dogs treated with Parvoenteritis are examined. In these
cases, the severity of the disease, the medical history of the dog, the treatment
followed, as well as the time required to complete it, are being studied.
In terms of methodology, the first part is a bibliographic search in
international databases such as Google Scholar, Scopus, Pubmed and a wide range of
scientific journals and empirical studies. In addition, material from the Department
Library is used. In the second part, 10 cases are recorded and all information related
to them, are presented

| Abstract: | Η παρβοεντερίτιδα του σκύλου είναι μια πολύ σοβαρή ασθένεια που πλήττει
κυρίως ανεμβολίαστους νεαρούς σκύλους και προκαλεί σοβαρή γαστρεντερική
ασθένεια και περιστασιακά καρδιακή νόσο. Η θνησιμότητα από τον συγκεκριμένο ιό
μπορεί να φθάσει ακόμα και το 90% περίπου για τα κουτάβια. Στην παρούσα εργασία
επιδιώκεται η μελέτη της ασθένειας αυτής, οι αιτίες που την προκαλούν, ο τρόπος
που μεταδίδεται, ενώ εξετάζονται διεξοδικά τα συμπτώματα που προκαλεί στον
σκύλο και οι πιθανοί τρόποι θεραπείας. Επιπροσθέτως, παρουσιάζονται οι τρόποι
πρόληψης και αποφυγής του ιού αλλά και οι πιθανές επιπλοκές που μπορεί να
δημιουργήσει στο ζώο. Πέρα από την θεωρητική προσέγγιση της ασθένειας,
εξετάζονται δέκα κλινικά περιστατικά σκύλων που νοσηλεύτηκαν με
παρβοεντερίτιδα. Στα περιστατικά αυτά μελετάται η σοβαρότητα της ασθένειας, το
ιστορικό του σκύλου, η θεραπεία που ακολούθησε, καθώς και το χρονικό διάστημα
που απαιτήθηκε μέχρι να ολοκληρωθεί αυτή.
Αναφορικά με την μεθοδολογία, στο πρώτο σκέλος γίνεται βιβλιογραφική
αναζήτηση σε διεθνείς βάσεις δεδομένων όπως είναι το Google Scholar, το Scopus,
το Pubmed και σε ένα μεγάλο εύρος επιστημονικών περιοδικών και εμπειρικών
μελετών. Επιπλέον, χρησιμοποιείται και υλικό από την βιβλιοθήκη του Τμήματος.
Στο δεύτερο σκέλος, γίνεται καταγραφή των περιστατικών και παρουσιάζονται όλες
