This study, conducted in the context of the thesis "The Effect of Cutting Depth and Cutting Speed on the Soil Cutting Force by a Bulldozer", refers to the employment of the Caterpillar D9T bulldozer by the Greek Public Power Company (PPC) in the South Range of Ptolemais. In particular, the study aims at the optimization of the performance parameters of a bulldozer, based on the analysis of measurements of the soil cutting force by the bulldozer for varying values of cutting depth and cutting speed. In the first chapter the subject and the aim of the thesis are presented, followed by a historical retrospective of the development of the region's linen range and the explanation of the bulldozers’ use there. The second chapter comprises the technical description of the bulldozer, including the C18 engine’s and the transmission system’s characteristics, and a description of the operation of bulldozer’s blade. In the third chapter a reference is made to the mechanical characteristics and the stoichiometric analysis of the ground and their influence on the handling of the bulldozer. The fourth and fifth chapters describe the planning and carrying out of the tests respectively. Finally, in the 6th chapter the results of the measurements are presented in the form of tables and diagrams, an analysis is carried out and the resulting conclusions are commented
