The purpose of this study is to analyze, through a bibliographic review, the
characteristics of both genders and their relationship with leadership. In addition, this
work will comment on the changes that have taken place over the years, and to
highlight the stereotypical perceptions that stand up until today which are the
inhibiting factor in the professional development of many women who wish to take up
the administration of school units.
This work aims to study the role of a headmaster in a primary school unit, the
characteristics that he/she ought to have being a leading form and what is the most
appropriate method of managing an educational unit. Furthermore, this study has the
purpose of investigating and identifying scientifically, those factors and mechanisms
that impede females, to claim managerial positions and administrative roles. It studies
the existence or not of stereotypical views among men and women, who hold
administrative duties and the influence they might have on the psychology of the
female candidates on their professional development.
As a methodological tool for conducting this study, a questionnaire was used, which
helped to collect all the necessary answers of the interviewed headmasters of Primary
schools of Eastern and Western Thessaloniki. The questionnaire in its structure
mainly included closed-ended questions about the educational administration, and it
was filled by 187 school unit managers. Below you can find the analysis of the data,
as well as the concerns and suggestions for further analysis

| Abstract: | Μέλημα της συγκεκριμένης εργασίας είναι να αναλύσει μέσα από μια βιβλιογραφική
ανασκόπηση τις έννοιες των δύο φύλων και τη σχέση τους με την ηγεσία. Να
σχολιάσει τις αλλαγές που έχουν γίνει με το πέρασμα των χρόνων, αλλά να
επισημάνει την ύπαρξη των στερεοτυπικών αντιλήψεων που ισχύουν μέχρι σήμερα
και αποτελούν τον ανασταλτικό παράγοντα για την επαγγελματική εξέλιξη πολλών
γυναικών που επιθυμούν να ασχοληθούν με την διοίκηση εκπαιδευτικών μονάδων.
Η παρούσα εργασία έχει σκοπό να μελετήσει το ρόλο που κατέχει ένας Διευθυντής σε
μία σχολική μονάδα της Πρωτοβάθμιας Εκπαίδευσης, τα χαρακτηριστικά που οφείλει
να έχει μια ηγετική μορφή και ποια είναι η πιο κατάλληλη μέθοδος διοίκησης μιας
εκπαιδευτικής μονάδας. Κύριος στόχος όμως, αυτής της μελέτης είναι να ερευνήσει
και να εξακριβώσει επιστημονικά, εκείνους τους παράγοντες και τους μηχανισμούς
που παρεμποδίζουν το γυναικείο φύλο, να διεκδικήσει διευθυντικές θέσεις και
διοικητικά καθήκοντα. Μελετά την ύπαρξη ή μη στερεοτυπικών απόψεων, ανάμεσα
στους άντρες και τις γυναίκες που ασκούν διοικητικές αρμοδιότητες, και την επιρροή
που πιθανών αυτά έχουν στην ψυχολογία του θηλυκού γένους για την επαγγελματική
του ανέλιξη.
Ως μεθοδολογικό εργαλείο για την πραγματοποίηση της έρευνας, χρησιμοποιήθηκε
το ερωτηματολόγιο, το οποίο συνέβαλε στο να συλλεχθούν όλες οι απαραίτητες
απαντήσεις των ερωτηθέντων διευθυντών και διευθυντριών της Πρωτοβάθμιας
Εκπαίδευσης της Ανατολικής και Δυτικής Θεσσαλονίκης. Το ερωτηματολόγιο στη
δομή του περιλάμβανε κυρίως ερωτήσεις κλειστού τύπου, σχετικά με την
εκπαιδευτική διοίκηση, όπου συμπληρώθηκαν από 187 διοικητικά στελέχη σχολικών
μονάδων. Στη συνέχεια παρατίθενται τα δεδομένα της έρευνας, οι προβληματισμοί
