The purpose of this paper is to study the degree of professional satisfaction of the secondary education teachers of the region of Epirus as a factor of their professional development. Initially, we analyze the concept of professional satisfaction and the factors that affect it, and then analyze the concept of professional development and the factors that lead to it. Also, the role and function of the teacher as well as the working conditions of the teachers are presented, as well as the general principles, structures and policies of the human resources administration. Next, the results of the survey of 150 teachers on their professional satisfaction and development are presented. The survey was conducted using a questionnaire, while the survey was conducted between September and October 2018. The results of the survey showed that professional satisfaction is a combination of factors, while some differences between men and women arise as to the extent to which professional satisfaction in their professional development. In particular, research has shown that the satisfaction of teachers from their work is positively related to the school's logistical infrastructure, the relationships they have with their parents, students and colleagues, the proper administration of the school, and the opportunities they have for business development. Also, men seem to have more chances of professional development than women, while the latter are more satisfied with their work than men.
