The cultivation of asparagus has developed rapidly over the last few years and has given producers, and especially young producers, the opportunity for high income. The purpose of this paper is the understanding and the analysis of the steps that producers need to take for the cultivation of asparagus. The ultimate aim of the paper is to examine the factors that contribute to a successful cultivation. For the achievement of this objective, the history of asparagus, its botanical characteristics and the requirements of its cultivation need to be examined. Furthermore, this project studies the profit, the subsidy provided and generally the criteria that benefit producers.
