A key issue for each education system is educational assessment. The changes that
have taken place over the last few decades in the economic, social and technological
spheres have influenced the area of education as they urge the demand for improving
the quality of the education provided. National and international organizations include
issues related to the assessment of educational institutions and educational work in
their research and research programs. Moreover, the subject of educational assessment
is linked to a variety of educational change and reformations. In addition, the
evaluation system is particularly important because it defines important functions of
each school system. The purpose of this study is to investigate the evaluation systems
of two European countries : Germany, in particular the Free State of Bavaria, and
Greece, in evaluating the educational project. The objective of comparative study is to
highlight differences and convergence trends in rating countries systems. The
methodological tool of the research was the content analysis. Analysis categories were
defined the evaluation agencies and their roles, the procedures, the evaluation
instruments and indicators that are used, the frequency and the consequences of the
evaluation as regards evaluation of the educational work. The results of the research
will contribute to the formulation of proposals applicable to the Greek educational
system, aiming at upgrading the evaluation system of the educational project
