This thesis is about the lateral and internal ligaments of the foot in adult volleyball athletes. The first section covers the basic information, which is the explanation of the sport and the types of sprains, the anatomy, the characteristics of the involved joints as well as the functional relations of the joints and the muscles of the ankle and the foot. Following that data is the analysis of the mechanisms of injuries, the affecting factors and the prognostic indicators. After presenting the clinical image and evaluation in conjunction with specific trials, a proposed physiotherapy intervention protocol (in conservative and postoperative therapy) is provided. Finally, the criteria for return to the sport were included, preventive measures were proposed and the conclusions of the work were recorded.
