Abstract

The purpose of this thesis is to present the development of organic farming in Greece and preferences of consumers in organic products. Initially, a conceptual approach of the term organic farming is carried out, the historical development in the European Union and its influence on the world stage. Then examine the conditions of organic farming and farming in Greece and role of the common agricultural policy in its development. Lastly, a study on the preferences of Greek consumers towards organic products and presents the conclusions from the survey.
